The Association of African American Vintners celebrated 20 years of education, legacy, and unity at their symposium in May held in Napa and Oakland, CA. The three-day symposium included panel discussions, wine tastings, speakers, and fundraising dinner, and a wine festival that was open to the public and featured wines made by members of the association.
The symposium video has now been released by Wine Enthusiast. There is a lot of valuable content in the recordings. According to the “Why You Should Watch” section of the blog post, “delving deep into the efforts being made for diversity and inclusion in the wine industry, [viewers] will get a glimpse of the challenges and resilience of Black winemakers and other industry professionals creating pathways to success.”
Jenny Dawn Cellars winemaker and founder Jennifer McDonald participated in the first panel discussion titled “Funding Your Wine Business, Financing & Distribution for Your Wine Brand.”
